L Restaurant & Bar is situated just off Kensington High Street in Abingdon Road. It is in the premises of the “Trattoo” restaurant started by Mario & Franco in the mid 1960s. In 2005 the 70 cover restaurant underwent total refurbishment retaining the original layout designed by theatrical designer, Sean Kenny. Since the restaurant re-opened as “L” at the beginning of 2006 we have attracted a loyal following but we understand that there are many who do not know of our existence.
The small and cosy bar at the entrance is very deceptive to passers-by as it leads into the main dining area at the rear in what would have been the garden which now has a glazed roof which makes it light and airy even on dull days and has been described as “sleek and contemporary” and even as “a hidden gem”.

My friend and I dined at L Resaurant & Bar in Kensington last night - what a wonderful experience! The food was cooked to perfection and beautifully presented and the staff were very welcoming - warm and friendly service but not intrusive. There is a lovely cosy atmosphere but that said, the tables are not on top of each other so there's plenty of room and you can have a discreet conversation. A delightful evening - will definitely rebook very soon!

This is definitely one of the worst restaurants i have had the misfortune to go to in London. The Staff were rude the manager was obnoxious and could not speak English when there was a problem, which there definitely was after keeping our group waiting for 1 1/2 hours past our reservation without so much as a sorry, but then was happy to present the bill with a thank you!!!!!! I would rather eat the filth of the pavement outside than return to this over priced self inflated restaurant.
