Cafe Rouge is a chain of Brasserie-style restaurants serving a range of light meals and drinks within a French atmosphere. There is a large choice of dishes as well as hot and cold drinks which makes this restaurant a good stop off point for tea and snacks rather than grand dinners.

My favourite Café Rouge. Brilliant location overlooking the Thames at Strand on the Green and a very nice way to start or end the day.

I love this cafe. It has ample parking -and a walk along the river immediately opposite. The breakfst menu makes you feel in France- French bread, croissants, pain au chocolat and a good cappuccino... I had my PhD party in the private room upstaits with view over the Thames...everything nicely served and all staff attentive and pleasant. Only one quibble: the staff don't ask parents to quieten down their loud children who tend to play musical instruments (experienced today-1.9.08) or run around tripping you up and squealing. If they could deal with this all would be perfect.

I love this cafe. Plenty of parking is available and after your meal you can walk along the river (immediately opposite.
My favourite breakfast is the basket of Viennoiserie with a cappuccino (available 10am to noon), especially on a Sunday morning after a hard week's work.
The upstairs room can be hired for small parties. I hired it (at a very reasonable price) for a coffee morning to celebrate my PhD. The staff were pleasant- kept the croissants and coffee coming-and the view over the Thames makes for interesting photographs.
The lunches have interesting French cuisine and my only grumble is that the staff do not ask parents to quieten the sometimes noisy children who run wildly around the cafe.
