New Rice & Spice

I would just like to congratulate the management and their team on the food and service I received this evening. About six weeks ago I had an issue which the manager could not apologise enough and he offered me a considerable discount. I decided to take that offer tonight and everything was top quality. As soon as I phoned he rememembered me and applied the discount without hesitation. Secondly the food arrived in a very timely manner and thirdly the food was of top quality and more importantly was piping hot. I had stopped using this takeaway a few years ago but am so glad I went back. A very enjoyable dining experience and one I will definitely be partaking in in the future. Genuinely impressed!! Fast delivery and the food was just beautiful. Very authentic Indian flavours, not just slop tailored to a British palate. I had chicken vindaloo with keema rice, the chicken was juicy and tender, the sauce rich and complex. My fiancee was equally impressed. I don't normally write reviews but this grub has made me think I need to start. Credit where it's due, well done rice n spice, I'll definitely be back.

I disagree with the other reviewer, but I am aware that Rice & Spice have had their ups and downs, particularly since they moved to Clapton and became take-away only. I guess it all depends on the chefs they have in. I did have a few less-than impressive curries a year or two back, but recently they have been back to their former high standards. Very tasty, succulent chicken, perfect spicing, all piping hot and highly affordable. Friendly staff and quick delivery. In my opinion it's the best of it's type in the area. Vive le Rice & Spice!

For one and foremost they should stop packing their dishes with huge chunks of lemons. Absolutely bitter tasting currys. The meat and chicken needs improvement honestly.

Was really disappointing and most likely will never eat at rice and spice again.
