Here we have the third of the hugely successful Dishoom venues after Shoreditch and Covent Garden, and in many respects this is the most authentic. Housed in a converted former warehouse next to the huge railway terminus of King's Cross, you get a sense of the history of similar Irani Cafes as they sprung up around Bombay. The first (spot the parallels!) was set up in circa 1928, in a goods shed behind Bombay's Victoria station (now Mumbai Chhatrapati Sivaji Terminus). Here at Dishoom you'll now find the place where Iranian culture and food meets Indian influence and flavours in modern day London.
Food inspired by Iran and India, is served early until late, with a perfectly balanced drinks menu alongside. Expect Sausage Naan Rolls, Gunpowder Potatoes, Dishoom Calamari and Nalli Nihari (hearty, lamb on the bone stew) amongst other predominantly Indian flavours.

Dishoom now has four branches, and this one on Granary Square is their biggest one so far. Inspired by the Irani cafes of Bombay, Dishoom specialises in mixing Indian and western ingredients, for instance their bacon naan roll for breakfast, Cheddar toasties with chilli, and of course a variety of curries. In case you were wondering, the 'Godown' in the name is the Indian term for a storage shed, referencing the building's past as a train shed.
