Last night, I came across this what looked and seemed like a beautiful and tasty indian cuisine. As I, myself grew up india in my younger years, I know my taste buds and spices. We ordered a take-away, one main for two as we had already eaten snacks. The manager seemed arrogant and rude when we approached him, didn't care that we wanted to try the food. We ordered chicken balti, 2 rices, nan, 11 popudoms and chutneys. After rudely been served and wasn't given my change we left for home to eat. As we opened the bag we noticed they only gave us 5 popudoms and the chutneys (mango) pot was placed into our bag without any mango chutney inside of it. Empty pot.

However, it was very, very tasty indian food, this is probably why its a bit more expensive than normal priced indian cuisines. I think the service (even for take away) was lame. Thank god we did not sit inside.

Don't get me wrong, the cooks are amazing.

I am a Indian Food lover, so i visited Hason Raja recently. The menu offered some very different types of dishes than other indian restaurants. It had an authentic indian taste to it, as apposed to other indian restaurants. Excellent service. Will go back again!

After reading the reviews I was not expecting much from the restaurant. However, it exceeded my expectations the food was immensely great, I had the 'Goose ki parchy' this was a truly unique dish, amongst the other exclusive dishes on the menu! I have not yet seen in any other Indian restaurant host a dish! Service was very attentive, and the staff were friendly.

Prominent board in the middle of the street advertises special at £8.50 for 2 courses. On requesting this, told it was only available pre-theatre. OK – so we ordered poppadums, 2 main courses and 2 vegetable dishes + rice, bread and drinks between 3. They told us this is not allowed, each person must order a main course with value per person of min £10.00. (They finally relented on this rule).

On the way out we checked the sign – no mention of pre-theatre only – so remonstrated with manager. Waiter claimed he never said it was pre-theatre only, manager said it was pre 8.00 pm only. Tourist trap -12.5% non-optional service charge. Avoid.

What a disappointment!
The welcome was promising with hoarde of staff ushering us to our table. Unfortunately the staff soon disappeared.
I asked 6 times about the offer displayed. After 35mins no-one helped. We went to explain, and pay for the popadums and water. The owner asked what was going on, I explained politely about the lack of service and his attitude was that we were idiots and should have just waited quietly.
He worked out what we owed for the water and popadoms PLUS service charge at 12.5%!
Bad enough that there was no apology, but to pay service charge for a lack of service and an extremely rude owner was preposterous!
The rudest restaurant experience I've had in my 5yrs
Have your say
