PS - in my previous review i forget to mention the toilets, if they can even be classed as toilets. Unless you are shorter than four feet tall you will need to go somewhere else or hold it until you get home. I recently got back from a holiday in Egypt. Egypt has a bad reputation for the food and i know a large number of people who have fallen ill due to the food there. I SURVIED EGYPT BUT DIDNT SURVIVE THE JOMUNA!!!

This is the worst Indian Restaurant i have EVER been to! The service is abysmal and the food is terrible. I have been to many Indian Restaurants in my life and this is the first to make me violently ill. I am used to strong spicy curries, this was not the problem. I don’t know where they get there produce from but a health inspector needs to pay them a visit before anyone else suffers! if you want to avoid a day on the toilet the avoid The Jomuna like the plaque!
never going back!

This was the second time I had eaten at the New Jomuna, as it's now called, both times as a lone business traveller.
I went there the first time in October 2009 and it had not changed in the 7 months since (still Jack Vettriano pictures on the walls!). On both occasions I was made to feel very welcome by the friendly, efficient staff. The food was very tasty with good-sized portions. In fact, there was probably too much. I had gusht masala the second time (lamb cooked in ginger and spices) and it was very good and the cool Kingfisher lager helped to wash it down.
It is not a very large restaurant and the tables are fairly close together, but I would not hesitate in recommending it.

I live local to Wilton Road, and for take-away or restaurant service the food is exceptional along with the service. The food is reasonable and i have never been disappointed with the quality of the meat or the dishes in general. Their special fresh herb currys are very tasty. I love Brick Lane for 'currys' but this has made it hard to go further afield. Many curry houses around this area and all are pretty good- however Jomuna is the best!
Enjoy.
A genuine satisfied and returning customer- just of there now!
