I have been ordering a delivery service from the Balti King for years and always loved the food.
Recently the food has gone terrible.
I use to love the Bagan masala (auborgine). I ordered it again recently and it was a completely different dish with no sauce. It was awful.
The chana masala I recently ordered was dried chickpeas, no sauce, absolutely no flavour, and only received a small portion (in a large container!)again awful.
The onion bajis are now hard and crispy and deffo not fresh.
I called to complain but they unwilling to compensate. Will not be ordering from them again.

Lived very close to this place for 2 years and have never eaten here until recently (mainly because I've never had a menu through the door & its looks a bit dingy from the outside), but I wish i had! The food is excellent, with a great choice of currys, and loads reasonably priced. I've eaten in far more expensive places in Angel/Stoke Newington/Shoreditch etc, and this place beats them all. Definitely worth checking out...will certainly go back!

My family have been going to Balti King since long before it was called Balti King. It used to be called Indian Nights. Whilst the prices have increased over the years, so has the quality of the food and service.
This is, in all honesty, the very best Indian resteraunt I have ever eaten at and everyone I have taken there agrees. When I lived in North London we used to get a delivery every week, and whenever a Birthday rolled around we would go there as well (the food is even better when eaten straight away).
In fact, the only negative thing I could say about this restaraunt is that they have ruined every other indian restaraunt I go to! I am always comparing to Balti King and I have not found another Indian restaraunt that even comes close to them.
If you're a meat eater or a vegetarian theres plenty of choice there for you. The lamb rogan is to die for, the chicken tikka is superb, the daal soup is the best in the world and their parathas are cooked to perfection (not doughey like other places). Their lassi drink is also wonderful and I have not found any dish there that I do not like (I have not tried the vindaloos though, too spicy for me).
If you go here, you are in for a treat. They are a little pricey though, however as with all things, you get what you pay for.
Eat here once and I guarentee you'll come back again and again.
I have never left a restaraunt review before and the only other places I would consider writing a review for are Honeymoon in crouch end (best for thai, chinese and vietnamese food) and Sunshine Cafe on Stroud Green Road (for £4 you get a massive breakfast on a supersized plate with a can of drink), best value breakfast I have ever come across, also very clean with friendly staff.
I cant believe only 3 people so far have left reviews for Balti King (albeit all positive).
In my opinion, the best indian restaraunt in the UK.
Balti King is one of the few places I miss in North London.
Highly Reccomended.

I have been a customer of Balti King since 2000, and they consistently provide one of the tastiest range of curries out there. Yes they can be a bit greasy, but they are truly delicious (their Karahi is a particular stand-out). In addition, their quirky menus (complete with reproductions of their food safety certificates!) and annual christmas card are always welcomed!
Highly recommended.

This is by far the best indian retuarant in north London! In fact the best in the whole of London!. They are only open six days a week as they have a cleaning day which keeps hygiene top notch!!!! Also dishes are so fresh and meat is so clean! Service is xcellent and is well worth the cheap prices they charge.. if you eat in you can even take your own booze with you!!! 10 out of 10 easy!!!
Have your say
