I think things must have improved since the last reviews, as I found the service to be pretty good. We had to wait quite a while for a late-running friend to arrive, and in that time they were very patient with us and not pushing us to order/clear the table. The food was also pretty tasty when it arrived, although I was pretty shocked when my Fiorentina pizza (normally in other places made as vegetarian with spinach, mozzarella and egg) had ham on it too.
Surroundings are pleasant and overall I was happy with the meal and service we received - i think i would have been more harsh had we have paid full price, but we booked through TopTable and got 50% off the food.
Busy and full of the local work crowd, La Spiga serve a variety of popular Italian dishes. Catering for private parties of up to 120 guests is available upon request. Due to its popularity, it is advisable to book in advance for a table.
