In leafy Montpelier Street can be found a secluded Italian garden style restaurant.

Montpeliano Restaurant is a delightful, split level the upper of which resembles the top city venue of which it is. Crisp white table linen illuminated by pin spots, hoards of famous faces, many of them signed jostle for position.

The lower level is quite simply unique, under a sculptured, sliding glass roof amongst the plethora of plants, pretty dressed tables welcome any visitor. That perfect place for sunny days and starry evenings.
Since 1974 .

Open in 1974 by restaurateur Antonio Trapani, Montpeliano has achieved landmark status in Knightsbridge as the place to go for dressy, classic Italian cooking.
Absolutely everyone has dined here some of the famous ones have left autographed photos behind. The extensive wine list is appropriately Italian, as is the wonderful service.

* Allergy friendly dishes
* Vegetarian friendly
* Wheat/Gluten free
* Al Fresco
* Business
* Cocktails
* Private Dining Room
* Comprehensive Wine List

The experience was a bitter and very disappointing one. We were treated like we weren't good enough for the restaurant, we paid over the odds for the food and we were overcharged for the privilege.

- We were charged for what seemed to be complimentary olives and bread and later the 'open sweet' which were automatically brought to our table;
- We asked for tap water (after ordering a Ł29 bottle of wine)- the staff made a huge fuss and openly scoffed. We were brought a jug, but when we paid, we were charged Ł7 (it was definitely tap water)
- The staff were arrogant and conceited;
- To top it all off, they then charged us for an extra coffee we didn't have.

I was so angry and disgusted about the whole experience.
