Topo Gigio is a long established traditional Italian restaurant in the heart of Soho, named after the Italian mouse cartoon character. The menu offers many Italian favourites, but pastas are a speciality. The eating area is underground, with a comfortable bar at street level. Service is friendly and Italian. Advance booking is required for private parties.

We have been going to Topo Gigio for more than 25 years and have known most of the staff since then. We have moved away from London a year ago and come back to see that the whole restaurant has changed the decor, the menu so we where slightly shocked.... But once we ordered the food we were amazed with the taste the quality and it was absolutely superb. The whole new look really looks very nice and they were able to keep the atmosphere and ambience. It’s nice to see that an old establishment has also moved forward and moved forward for the better... We really liked it and will definitely come back again.

I have been going to topo`s for over 20 years and it was my favorite night out but no longer. we visited tonight to find the menue had changed. No longer Italian and very limited. Te quality had also taken a masive dive. We had 2 starters, 2 main courses, 2 beers and 2 coffees and the bill was £99.80 Very poor value for money. I am very sad that after over 20 years of visiting I will no be returning and will advise all my friends I have recommended over the years not to go back. Very very sad it is like loosing an old friend.

We have been going to Topo,s for years and years, we always rated it as our favourite night out fantastic food excellent service and fun place to be.On our last visit the menue had changed and what a shock non of the old favourites on the menue and not vey Italian, how can this fantastic place go so down hill in such a short time,I am sure it has lost all its old customers, I am afraid it has lost us and
our friends,such a shame, a great loss.

Have been going regularly to Topo Gigio's for 30 years with excellent experiences ,wonderful food and with lively buzz . We visited two days ago and the menu had changed to hardly be Italian -- the food was very poor and the service very casual , --- What has happened????

I have been going to Top Gigio restaurant for a few years now and have always found it excellent in all categories. The food you cant falter, the staff are very friendly and it is very relaxing with a great atmosphere. I have recommended it to quite a few people and they have since been back a few times.

I went to this restaurant last night with my girlfriend after checking this site out and overall found the restaurant excellent.

Greeted first by Topo's own cloak staff, who take your coat and then lead you to your table.

The food was also very good, albeit the bisctecca gigio (steak with tomato and mushroom) was overcooked. However the raviole a la creme was fantastic (including deserts). I also found the array of food and the wine carte excellent including the atmosphere and service.

Very pricey in comparison to other italian restaurants but will still recommend this one to friends and family. Oh yeah, and for its location it wasn't swamped with tourists!! Great.

Hi there!
Very disappointed to hear that Renez has had a bad experience at 'Topo Gigio's' - my husband and I have been going for the past 30 years and have enjoyed every meal! The restaurant holds some very special memories for us both. We have recommended many family and friends over the years, all of whom agree what a superb restaurant it is. Great food, fantastic atmosphere and friendly staff - what more could you want? Topo Gigio is a family run business and its been both lovely and sad to see the different generations come and go yet keeping the tradition alive. I strongly reccommend you pay a visit and make up your own mind.

I visited this restaurant with a few friends the other night. The experience was simply...AWFUL. The meunu was boring, food was dull and on top of all, the service was appalling. Although it wasn't expensive, it was definately NOT worth the price. There are much more better Italian restaurants in west London than Topo Gigio. I would NOT recomment this restaurant to anyone and will definately NOT go back there again.
