Cafe El Paso

I have mixed review really because i've had a bad & good experience, never had a complaint about the food, it was always above average! What i don't like is they slap on service charge to parties less than 7 which is not acceptable, they even service charge a couple. Service charge is not a legal charge and you can refuse to pay but of course if they deserve it then its only decent to show your appreciation. My first experience of Cafe El Paso was fun and enjoyable ....we wore mexican hats and the staff was friendly but the 2nd time was totally different and no fun enjoyable atmosphere, not sure if under new management!!! I would recommend this restaurant on food basis but would make them aware of the service charge.

i dont know what the last guy is on about, this is the best place ever! although to be honest i dont know if it still exists, it has been ages since i went and i havent noticed it on lordship lane but maybe thats just me being blind, when i have been there they are LOVELY and the food is AMAZING! plus a really fun atmosphere, i definatly would go there again.

Possibly the worst restaurant I've been too. The waiter was rude, never made eye contact or any sort of communication. As soon as we finished eating he slammed the bill down. The food was awful my rich tomatoe chicken breast was sauce from their bbq chicken with a chopped up raw tomatoe thrown in. Their nacho's were soggy doritos and to top it off I had food poisoning the next day. It was very over priced and service included meaning no work was needed to get a tip. It would also help if they cleaned the place a bit.
