Think 1960’s Beirut meets 21st century London
In a nutshell: Arabica Food & Spice Company trade in their market stall, for bricks and mortar to launch a full-on 80 cover bar & restaurant, serving Levantine inspired food
Background: The market is the spiritual home and birthplace of Arabica. James started out at Borough Market, armed with little more than a cool box over 14 years ago and began selling a small range of mezze from an 8ft trestle table.
Food: Expect to find long lists of vegetable focused mezze, rare-breed meat and fish cooked over single variety English charcoal as well as stone baked pastries, interweaving authentic classics with modern dishes inspired by the sun drenched shores of the Eastern Mediterranean.
Determined not to lose touch with their market roots, Arabica Bar and Kitchen will showcase a range of mezze, pastries and ingredients from a new street cart and will continue serving falafel & Label Anglais chicken shawarma wraps outside on market days.
