Named after founder Uri Dinay's childhood nickname, Pilpel (meaning chilli pepper) offers falafels from a recipe developed over 60 years working on a falafel kiosk in Tel Aviv. Grandfather Zion's secret recipe results in a falafel with a crisp exterior and fluffy centre. Choose from falafel in a warmed pita or salad box, both filled with shredded carrots, red cabbage, pickled cucumbers, jalapenos and crunchy onions plus a swish of homemade houmous. Aubergine, guacamole, feta, hard-boiled eggs and sundried tomatoes as well as homemade tahini sauce (which you can buy bottled at the counter) make a delicious vegetarian meal. These chickpea energy balls are guaranteed to keep you firing on all cylinders well past the 3pm slump.
