This was the first time visiting Munals Tandoori after hearing good reviews. I would definitely NOT be recommending this restaurant. Firstly, we waited an hour and 10 minutes for our food with absolutely no kind of apology. Then, when the food came it was the wrong order (which is fine, mistakes are inevitable in a restaurant). However, when I asked the waiter what dish it was he lied and stated it was the one I had ordered. I then asked the manager to identify the dish I had on my table, he stated it was a completely different plate than my order. In which instance, the initial waiter came to the table and told me directly to my face that 'you are wrong. I am going to tell you if you are wrong and you are wrong'. Needless to say I had lost my appetite after that. Then finally, they tallied up our bill wrong and tried to overcharge us!! Absolutely terrible experience, poor customer service and food is definitely not up to par. We will not be returning.

I have been going to Munal for years. It is by far the best Nepalese/Indian food I have ever had! The staff are friendly and welcoming, the prices are extremely reasonable, and the food is to die for.
One of my favourite restaurants in London.

I have been using the Munal restraunt since it opened just over 20 years ago.
This eatery has seen a few changes over the years, the menu/food selections being updated where necessary. The food has always been to a high standard and prices remain reasonable to this date. The management and staff are very friendly always welcoming with a smile and prompt service.I would recommend the Munal to anyone looking to find a new place to use if not already a regular. This place is definately a jewel in the local area of London SW15.

I went to this little restaurant for the second time last night, to introduce my girlfriend to it, having been suitably impressed on my first visit with a couple of friends. I thoroughly agree with the other reviews. It's friendly, busy (on a Saturday evening at least) without being noisy, and incredibly good value for money by Putney's often inflated standards. I have actually experienced Ghorka food in its native surroundings, and this place recreates some very pleasant travel memories for me.
The staff are excellent and charming, the menu extremely comprehensive (I defy anyone not to adore the Mo Mo starter!), and the portions are huge. So huge, in fact, that my partner took home a substantial 'doggie bag' with which to treat her kids the following day. The Munal staff are more than happy to perform this service.
Anyway, the only reason I don't give it a '10' is the slightly claustrophobic way in which the tables are crammed in to a relatively small space. But as long as you don't mind over-hearing other peoples' conversations, you won't have a problem eating here.
I should also point out that this is not 'Indian' food – while there are many similarities with the cuisine of Nepal's larger neighbour to the south and east, and many recognisable dishes for those familiar with, particularly, northern Indian food, this is distinctly different from the regular high street 'curry house'. Highly recommended.

This is the best Indian food I've ever eaten, they never disappoint. Me and my partner have come here for years and we went separately before we met. I've been told about other great Indian restaurants before and they've never matched up. Fantastic value for money - we always take a doggy bag home! An absolute must.

Munal is absolutely superb, I would reccomend this restaurant very highly, and to especially hungry people because the portions are great. Very friendly service and very reasonable prices. I have been going to this restaurant for 15 years and it has never failed to impress.

We've been going to munal for years and everyone we've introduced to the restaurant has been going back regularly too, including friends and family from abroad who make a point of eating there at least once every time they visit London. The food is excellent, delicate flavours beautifully presented in generous portions and at very reasonable prices. The staff are very nice people and remain friendly and polite even when very busy - you can tell that many of the clients are regulars. The restaurant, which was modernised a couple of years ago, has a good ambience with pictures and artefacts from Nepal, including an impressively carved fron door.

One of the best places to eat in putney, the best curries, I moved away five years ago, but any visit to london includes a visit to the Munal Tandoori.
