Award winning Hackney Chocolatier Niko B set up Chocolate Lab at the beginning of 2012 in the lounge and kitchen of the Avo Hotel in Dalston. Chocolate Lab is open and exposed, where chocolates are visibly made and displayed fresh and on-site. Guests experience how fresh truffles are made, melted, flavoured and, importantly, how they taste when they are served straight from the kitchen. Chocolate Lab is practically styled with utilitarian jars of liqueurs and syrups in the process of developing their flavours, trays of fresh chocolates, fresh organic, seasonal fruits and vegetables, the aromas of caramel and the sounds of New Orleans Jazz and Motown Soul.
Chocolate Lab is open Wednesday-Sunday and serves chocolates, desserts and hot chocolates. Their Sunday brunch service, American pancakes with a chocolate twist serves freshly flipped classic, pumpkin, apple and corn pancakes served with a selection of chocolate sauce, caramel, maple syrup, compotes, fruit, savoury cocoa black beans, bacon, halloumi and fresh salsas.
Niko B also host the first dessert only supperclub at Chocolate Lab, where they indulge guests in 4 courses of dessert and cocktails inspired by seasons and celebrations.
