A first visit here for a lunch with a friend from the excellent prix fixee menu @ £8.95. Choice of three starters and four mains - I had excellent prosciutto and then the delicious lasagne. All arrived at the right moment and temperature. Wines at a sensible price but above all the place shines! Excellent housekeeping which always gives confidence. Thoroughly recommended!

Bad choice!

Last Saturday my family and had dinner at Sirena Restaurant .We waited for about an hour to get 2 portions of pasta (that came cold) and a stake. What we got was not a stake and even not properly cooked ( we asked for medium rare and got well done) .

Waiter did not accept our complain so we went away hungry and with "empty pocket".

The restaurant itself is situated in a charming St Christopher' place

do not go!

I went to Sirena for a friends birthday - service was quite good. A few comments about the food: not especially hot and the tempura prawns (in batter as normal) still had most of the shell on which was not that nice as I got a mouthful of shell.

Had a dodgy tummy the next day....from the other reviews this might have been a bad luck once off but its not a cheap place to eat and having recently returned from Italy, this was not of the standard I would have expected from an "authentic italian" restaurant.

Sorry guys

Had another very good meal at Ristorante Sirena today: this must be one of the few places that never disappoints. The menu is based on seasonal products, there is a short but v.good wine list and the staff offer fantastic service. We had a pre-starter of really good marinated olives and different breads, including one that tastes like a real italian pizza - Michael Winner would call these "doubly historic"!Then we had pasta (with seafood, their speciality) followed by two types of veal plus desserts. The final bonus is a small bill - if all restaurants in London would (or could) offer such value for money people would eat out twice daily.

DREADFUL!

I went with a friend last week and after waiting for our food for an hour with no explanation or apology, whilst people who had arrived after us and been served and finished their meals, we left. Service is apalling - don't go!

On October 12th I went for dinner with a couple of friends and sat outside. The fact that the waiters harrassed every hot chick who passed by bothered me a bit as it didn't show professionalism at all. The worst was when 5 of us split the bill and told the hostess (who was relly smily when trying to drag the passers by in) we were going to pay with our cards separately. She got really annoyed and, while doing the transactions, kept on pulling faces. As I took a while to tyoe my pin number she, very rudely, asked if I had any problem. I told her no, but if she had a problem (which she clearly had) we could sort it out. She backed off stamping her feet and we decided not to ever go back there

Another visit yesterday on the 15th March 2007 and another great meal served by friendly and helpful staff. It was great because it was warm enough to sit outside but the manager insisted on putting on the outside heating for us anyway. We got talking and discovered a lot has changed since our last visit. The management has changed and this new guy really is on the ball. The food was always good but it seems a new head chef is adding to the overall excellance at the Sirena. Unfortunately we live quite away from London but can't wait for our next visit. Just love the place - try it and see.

Having been to the Sirena last night 23rd Nov. 2006 we found it a deightful little restaurant. The food was delicious and the staff were friendly and helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and would most certainly visit it again when in London. Infact as it has outside seating we thought how nice it would be in the summer to sit outside with a glass of wine, some of their delicious nibbles and watch the world go by.

My friend and I were served our meals while my other friend waited on her meal. After 30 minutes we asked where the third meal was but we were given no response or explanation. After another 15 minutes we asked again (by this time my friend and I had finished our meals). We left the restaurant since we still weren't given any explanation of where her meal was. Without any apology or explanation we had to find another restaurant for my friend to order some lunch. Pity about this service as the food was edible for this tourist trap area of London.

Totally avoid this place in james st. Sat at a table at 9.45pm for coffee and dessert with my girlfriend and the two male staff members were very rude to us. They refused our order and said that we must order mains. Too greedy for the tourist £ in my opinion..I live in the area and will not be back to this poor excuse for an italian restaurant.
