Forest Tandoori

We are locals who have been coming regularly for about 3 years. The Forest has excellent food and friendly, professional service. Their menu is pretty much the usual, although they do have some interesting specialities (the lamb shanks with chick peas is the perfect winter food) and their vegetarian dishes are very good, unlike many Indian restaurants which don't seem to bother. But it is the quality of the cooking which raises that menu to well above average. They do a very good thali, where you can choose which dishes are included, unlike most places where you don't get a choice beyond meat or non-meat. We have tried most of the other Indian restaurants in the Walthamstow/Highams Park area, but this is without a doubt the best, and always popular (make sure you book if you want to go on a Friday or Saturday night). The decor is nice too - modern and bright.

My wife & I had an excellent night & meal. The service was brilliant very warm & welcoming. The food was out of this world & we could taste all the different flavours of the spices and the tanduri king prawns and karaki lamb ,are to die for. We would recommend everyone give it a try.smith & kim.
