This is the best Italian restaurant in London. The staff and manager made us feel extremely welcome. My wife wanted something that wasn't on the menu and they made it especially for her! The food was beautiful. I had the spagetti with clam. I highly recommend this place!

We ate at Piccadilly Restaurant as a party of 6 on Saturday evening 26th Nov 2011. I suspect this restaurant doesn't rely on return custom, but manages to survive because of it's very central location. We will NEVER eat there again! Here's why:
- The food was not of good quality or flavour.
- incredibly overpriced! e.g. £11 for a vegetarian lasagne (same price as for meat!), £20-£25 for a steak & chips, £3.95 for the smallest glass of Budweiser beer ever (certainly no bigger than a half-pint glass). In fact everything on the menu was overpriced!
- On top of this they add 12.5% service charge to every bill (the table next to us refused to pay as the service had been very poor).
- We asked if the veg lasagne contained mushrooms and said we were asking because my wife is allergic to them, waiter said, 'no'. Half way through eating it, noticed many large pieces of mushroom! They changed her meal but didn't really apologise and still charged us for it! (BTW vegetarian lasagne is not tasty either and had very little pasta in it, seemed to be mainly soya mince with cheese on top).
- Poor service generally
- one of the coffees ordered didn't arrive, we had no way of telling if we had been charged for it or not as the bill was not properly itemised.
- cramped, dark and unattractive interior
- dirty toilets
Other than that, we had a lovely evening with our friends! LOL! I don't think any of us will make a return visit.

We were a party of 13 and wanted to have a meal before heading off to a show. They were quick and efficient and the food was of a very good standard. A lovely little "gem" in the heart of Piccadilly, would definately re-book to go again, either to take out clients or a meal for 2. Thanks Carol

my family and friends organized a post theatre dinner at piccadilly restaurant last friday.we were greeted well on arrival and our coates were taken and looked after by the staff.we were seated in the lovely room upstairs which had a great caracter with wood panelled walls and lovely pictures.the roof terrace attached was handy for smoking .food was delicious and of high quality and true italian cooking.waiters were friendly and attentive.we had a fun time and great italian experence.what make this restaurant special is the location and the serenty once you are inside.truely great joy***** recommended.

My wife and I have been going to this Restaurant for the last 40 years, mainly for special occasions. Never again. The wonderful characters depicted on the walls in cartoons have all now retired, or perhaps fled. The chef and waiters have changed many times since those first halcyon days. But for the sake of nostalgia we gave it another try. The food is poor and has only tenuous links with Italy. The waiters are untrained and unatentive. I had to ask for bread. One diner refused to pay the service charge as the food was cold. Disappointing but a sign of the times. We booked a table: why bother?-they had no idea who we were and tried to charge us £10 for 2 glasses of wine that they offered us when there was no table? I would guess that it is the least Italian restaurant in London. All the mice have round shoulders now that they pack so many people packed in. My seat guaranteed that I was barged regularly by guests and waiters. Is this local colour? 2 Course for 2 with wine and coffee:£77. Genuine Italian restaurant in Southend 2 courses with coffee and Strega: £56.No problems Picadilly, there are many more restaurants in London who appreciate what a customer needs, unlike you.

I booked the restaurant for 33 people on Saturday 28th Oct.The manager of the restaurant rang me twice before this and faxed me on a number of occassions as we were travelling from Ireland. The food was beautiful and the service was fantastic.Staff were extremely friendly. We were the last booking of the night but they did not rush us to leave.Everything this restaurant promises is delivered. The place itself is beautifully decorated and the atmosphere was relaxed and very comfortable.I would highly reccommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a good meal, friendly service and very reasonable prices. We will definitely be eating here on our next visit to London..Well done!
