I don't usually write online reviews, but i saw a bad one for sahara and i felt compelled to let everyone know how AMAZING it was. I love lebanese food, this was one of the best i've had. Ordered about 10 mezze's for 3 people- waay to much but SO delicious. Houmous with lamb was esp good.

Went here with a Taste Card and was informed that we'd need to order both an appetizer and main (which wasn't specified on the Taste website). As a vegetarian, I wasn't in the mood for a stew (the main veg option) on the hot summer day we went in. I asked if I could order 3 appetizers instead, as that would add up to the same value (and there are a million veg starters), but I was refused. I attempted to post this in the Taste Card website but they said they only post positive reviews. I don't think I'm being particulary negative, the food was nice, I'd just want to know this as a vegetarian!

Myself and 6 friend ended up here after the cricket at Loads.

It's possibly the worst dining experience I have ever had. It took 40 mins to get our first drinks and we chased them a number of time. Our starters took over an hour to arrive!

The food itself is good, the staff/service are just awful!

Spent new years eve at Sahara St johns wood and it was the worst night ever. The service was terrible, the seating was more terrible and if things could not get worse, when the food came, it was one plate with about six people sharing!!!!! we went hungry, the music was terrible. There were belly dancers which turned up late. We arrived at the restaurant at 9:00 pm and the belly dancers arrived at 12:00. nobody could dance as the dance floor was very small. The night ended up with one of the speakers which was hung up on the wall falling on a child's head and injuring the child!!!! I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone who would like to have an enjoyable new years eve, as the service was terrible, the restaurant was full of hazards and the seating was even more terrible than the service, everyone was squashed in. The restaurant also demanded that we pay the service charge which we did!!!If you would like to visit this restaurant, never ever ever ever go on new years eve, if you do, you will be guaranteed a night of misery. I would not even give this restaurant one star as one star is really too much.

I recently visited this establishment with a group of friends and was disappointed. Having viewed the website and wanting to support a local eatery we really wanted to give this place the thumbs up, but alas it wasn't meant to be.

On arrival we were shown to our table and waited a long time [approx 10 mins] before we were served. When the waiter finally decided to take our order he omitted to ask about drinks! Furthermore the fresh juice requested were not available as they were not 'fresh'?! The waiter offer didn't seem well prepared with alternative suggestions but proceeded to inform us that if we ordered our starters with our mains it would take some time, now this would have been reassuring [think fresh hot food] had it not been for the fact the food arrived quite promptly. There was no offer of assistance to one diner who was struggling to choose a dish, customary practice in most restaurant these days.

The general standard of the food was poor for Lebanese, the fish was overcooked, the shish taouek and hummous were bland and the tabbouleh had none of the zesty freshness associated with this classic and Lebanese salad. Given the promises made on the restaurants website and its location on St Johns Wood High St the charges for some of the dishes are more than some of the higher end eateries along the Edgware Road, hence one would also expect a better standard of service [friendlier/happier staff to start with] and higher quality of food. We ate because quite simply we were very hungry but next time I'd rather put more money in the meter for the Edgware Road than eat here again.
