Talay Thai has now been established for 3 years. The menu offers a range of dishes like curries, soups, stir-fried dishes of meats and vegetables and seafood. The Taj Mahal menu, whilst containing many of the very popular well-known dishes, also has a selection of chef°s specialities which are unique to the restaurant.

We've eaten at Talay Thai over a dozen times over the past two years, it's a really lovely local restaurant. We've had a mixture of home deliveries and restaurant meat-ins, and both are generally excellent.

There have been the odd occasion where the veg dishes have been really small when delivered at home (and they always deliver Pad Thai rather than Pad Si Ewe!), but otherwise it really is our local favourite. Delicious curry and noodles and authentic tastes. There are some bad past reviews, but these seem to have been from years ago. I'd recommend trying it.

THE BEST Thai food I've ever eaten. Ate there yesterday & want to rave. Spring rolls were delicious, panang prawn curry mouthwatering, staff helpful, atmosphere lovely. Some old neg reviews here, place must have gone thru a bad patch back then. It's great now! Cannot recommend it more highly.

I order take out from here regularly. I also eat in the restaurant a lot (the staff are so sweet). I am veggie so can't comment on their meat dishes, but the vegetarian dishes are excellent. The som tum salad is EXCELLENT. The best. Great pad thai and deep friend beancurd. Try it. Its v authentic.

I feel compelled to write a review to express how deeply disappointed I was with a takeaway meal we had delivered recently from here.

We ordered a number of dishes and the food was of such substandard quality we ended up binning most of it, something I don't believe I have ever done before. The stuffed chicken wings in particular disturbed me, as they appeared to be slightly rancid. The green chicken curry was submerged in a thick pool of oil and once I drained this out, found the chicken to be tough and the sauce bland. The pad thai was greasy and burnt and after two mouthfuls I threw it out.

I am only being honest here - if they'd been good I'd be giving them a glowing review. Sadly, I've had to write this. We certainly won't order from these guys again.

Mysef and a friend went on Saturday evening the place was quite due to the England
match on.

Total disappointing evening the food was bland, sloppy and totally tasteless no spices or association to Thia food at all. and served partly lukewarm in fact a total insult to Thai culinary.

we had set menu A and it was not worth the money and the potions were quite small
for two to share.I might as well stayed at home and ordered a takeaway meal as the food served resembled Chinese food. which my local Chinese would have served better
with more taste.

sorry talay Thai you won't be seeing us again.

The first 2 reviews are obviously written by the staff, or have never tried Thai food. This is our first experience of Talay thai one in which we will not be repeating. our food arrived Hot which is the best thing I can say about it. The spare ribs had a funny tang to them which was not the flavouring, the meat just wasn't right. The main red Thai curry one the safest dishes I would say to order wasn't even red, watered down coconut milk, it tasted like they had forgotten to add all the spices, even if it was not fresh and from a jar of paste i'm sure it would have been better than this. The chicken again didn't taste right so we left that as well. so all in all a disaster. i don't normally bother with reviews as living around this area you come across a bad take away from time to time but this was by far the worst and pretty expensive for you got.

Loved this place. Relaxed atmosphere, lovely decor, pleasant service, delicious food - I recommend - veg tempura and amazing Beef salad.
We will be back.
