I love this place-it's amazing. The owners are lovely and always very welcoming. The food is wonderful and just as good as when i visited vietnam. It is very reasonable and it is bring your own so a perfect place to go with friends. I hired the whole restaurant for my 30th and the food was exceptional event though they had to feed 25 of us all at the same time!

I have been here with my wife and several friends, everyone has enjoyed the food and atmosphere at Thans's Bistro. The red prawn curry with coconut rice is excellent in my opinion. The service is always friendly and the food great! Bring your own wine and the menu is very reasonably priced *****

Fantastic little Vietnamese resaurant that myself and my partner discovered about 2/3 years ago.
Great service, beautiful vietnamese cuisine (if you like thai or malaysian, you'll love this) and authentic decor and atmosphere.
Super-reasonable prices - mains are around £5 or £6, try the red curry - best i've had this side of Asia.
A gem that by rights should be packed out nightly - Although it's never too busy which is great for us as it means we always get a table!!
We tried it once a few years ago and come back at least once a month, I reckon you will too:)

Went there on a Tuesday night last week, so the place was empty (as all the restaurants around that area are it seems). Nice decor, quite cosy, despite the lack of numbers, and the (presumably) was ours for the whole night, so it did feel kinda special.
The food was tasty and freshly cooked; prawn tempura started comes with 5 fat prawns in a crispy golden batter, whilst my friend had "happy rolls", which tasted as good as they did on his trip to Hanoi last year.
For the mains, I chose the sea bream in coconut and lemon grass sauce-delicious and creamy, especially accompanied by the sesame rice. My friend opted for green curry, which though small on appearance, took him a while to eat and left him with a satisfied smile.
The man serving us, presumably the manager, was friendly and smiles, despite the surely soul destroying prospect of having only one customer of an evening. The bill was £22-not bad for two courses, prawn crackers and a soft drink each I thought. We took the take away menu and will, for sure, be returning in the future.
