Gin has been vogueish for quite some time, and a few smart bars have even started selling aged cocktails. But the team at the East London Liquor Company are now producing barrel-aged gin. This is not a new concept, as in fact it's inspired by an 18th century habit of aging white spirits in barrels. They say that using the same oak caskets to age Bourbon in complements the botanical ingredients of the gin. The Bow-based distillery has its own bar and shop, so head down to try it and in the wise words of Sainsbury's, see if you can "taste the difference."
