Thanks to Agatha Christie, the Orient Express train service conjures up images of mystery and romance. It stopped operating in 2009, however a company by the name of Venice-Simplon Orient Express has since sprouted up emulating its journeys.
If you can’t afford the fare (which is currently £710 for a one-way ticket to Paris) fear not, as you can just about experience similar luxury at Bob Bob Ricard, a quirky Soho restaurant. The menu has Russian and British dishes, while the art deco design and booth seating emulate the famous carriages. And for the ultimate in opulence, each table has a button for requesting champagne.
