Where: Studio 88
Studio 88 is a bar that's rather different to its West End peers. Each night the six-piece house band performs songs requested by the audience, having written their choices down on napkins. The menu has a snack new to London called the California Cone, essentially a seaweed cornet filled with a variety of ingredients savoury or sweet, such as miso glazed lamb with spicy coconut yoghurt, and the cocktails on offer are inspired by legendary film studios and record labels. Moreover, the bar stays open till 3 am, a welcome closing time now that more and more venues are seeing their licencing hours cut.
