Scenic views and Brutalist architecture

Brutal yet peaceful.

Where: Dawson's Hill

Fans of Brutalism and panoramic landscapes should pay a visit to this East Dulwich spot while it's still relatively secret. Dawson's Heights is the name of a housing estate worth seeing for its bold geometric form (known as a ziggurat for those in the know). Built in the 60s, the design was chosen so that the majority of the flats would have views in two directions.

Architecture aside, the views from Dawson's Hill, home of a small nature reserve, are impressive. Situated on one of the highest points south of the river, The Shard, Canary Wharf and the Thames are all visible from here, and you can be assured that it's a peaceful spot away from any urban noise.
