Olympic fever might have abated but the cycling revolution continues to sweep through London. If you’re sick of the sight of cars when you don your Lycras for a leisurely ride then why not swap the road for the track with a spot of velodrome action at Herne Hill?

There are open sessions on Saturdays for all abilities and bikes are provided if you don’t have your own – they must be brakeless (fixed gear) with drop bars. There’s nothing quite like speeding round one of the oldest cycling tracks in the world to let you know you’re alive. Awesome fun.
