Visit an Islamic architectural gem

Exhibitions, film screenings and live music

Where: The Ismaili Centre

Just a few minutes away from the museum hub of South Kensington, you'll find this cultural and social space for London's Shia Ishmaili Muslim community. As well as a prayer hall and a meeting room, the centre hosts exhibitions, film screenings and live music; past events have included a performance of music from the mountains of Tajikistan and a documentary photography exhibition of East Africa. However its most striking aspect is the design, which fuses Islamic and western architecture, and from the roof garden you can see the domes of the nearby museums. Every year during Open House Weekend you can take advantage of tour guides around the building too.
