Where: London Clowns’ Gallery
This is not one for people with a fear of clowns, but for everyone else, this is a museum dedicated to the art of clowning around. There are figurines, costumes, prints lining the walls, and awards - yes, prizes have been given to outstanding achievements in the clown sector. There's even a "laughologist" tool box belonging to the museum's director Mattie Faint, who used to work as a clown doctor. If you're not familiar with this role, it's the job of people who visit children's hospitals to cheer up the patients. Just to add an extra quirk to the gallery's bow, it's located in a church in Dalston. Visit on the first Friday of the month between noon and 5pm.
