Drumscapes at East India Club Night

East India Club Nights are curated by award winning composer and Sarod player, Soumik Datta, who works closely with RichMix, the East India Club Nights are aimed to promote cutting edge musicians in the field of Indian contemporary arts. - This the 4th event in the series

The evening will begin with an Indian Classical music performance with Ricky Romain on sitar & Jon Sterckx on tabla.

The second set will be Jon Sterckx's Drumscapes live sampling performance bringing world percussion together with live electronics. 

Jon skilfully brings percussion from across the globe together with 21st century technology - all instruments are played, sampled, mixed & processed live on stage in a synthesis of traditional musicianship and live electronics. 

The result is a unique blend of rhythmic soundscapes, bouncy world rhythms & high energy drumming.

Jon & Ricky have been performing together for 12 years and have developed a reputation for their on stage rapport & dynamic performances, delighting and uplifting audiences wherever they have played. Regular performers at venues, festivals, melas & cultural events in the South West where they are based, they were also selected performers at the National Celebration of British Asian Live Arts in 2008.
