This Christmas the EDF Energy London Eye is being transformed into the perfect winter destination, with festive themed capsules and their biggest ever ‘Eyeskate’ rink. Be dazzled by live ice sculptors on site, whilst soaking up the ‘Frostival’ atmosphere on the South Bank.

New for 2013, the multi-sensory ‘Frosty Guided Experience’ is launching on Saturday 30th November. Guests will be welcomed into a bespoke ice themed capsule before being taken on a heightened sensory experience with faux ice sculptures, captivating twinkling lights, the whisper of wintery winds and crackling ice, all with the rich scent of delicious mint hot chocolate. Be inspired by the expert guides on hand to provide interesting winter facts on the landmarks you can see in our sensational views of London.

This winter ‘Eyeskate’ is returning to the Southbank and it’s bigger and better than before. Welcoming everybody from Olympic hopefuls to beginners ready to indulge their playful side and soar across the open-air ice rink - overlooked by London’s most iconic landmark. The perfect winter destination for all ages, the ice rink will be open daily from Wednesday 27th November to Sunday 5th January 2014

EDF Energy London Eye spokesperson Leah Larkin, commented: “We are proud to be opening the landscape once again to our spectacular ‘Eyeskate’ rink and new seasonal capsule experiences. This year the London Eye is pulling out all the stops to be the must go to destination on the South Bank with live entertainment and fantastic ‘Frostival’ experiences available”.

Other seasonal delights include the Winter Cocktail Experience capsule, where delicious cocktails are created by local boutique gin distillery, Sipsmith London. The perfect option for small groups and couples, cocktails are served by a dedicated in-capsule mixologist. Guests also have the opportunity to mix their own drink during a double rotation, all the while enjoying 360-degree views of our capital city.
