Floridita presents Cuban Roots New Years Eve Special

Floridita London brings you the vibrant colours of Cuba and all its essence for a hot night of Changui, Rumba, Son Montuno, Puerto Rico and New York Salsa. Four fiery dancers will show the dance style for each different type of music. Book a table to dine from one of the fabulous menus available, or simple come to the Rum Shack for cocktails and party!

The essence of Cuban music is summarized by this group of talented musicians, all from the province of Santiago de Cuba. Their performance features a varied and extensive repertoire including many of the best known and emblematic themes of Cuban music. Most of their songs have been composed and arranged by Rene Alvarez Portuondo, a talented musician, arranger, composer and producer located in London, involved in many projects with various record labels such as Sony, Fonovisa of Mexico.. He is currently directing the acclaimed Cuban Combination Orchestra, one of the most famous orchestras in the field of popular Cuban dance music.

Into the next phase of the evening - Trovatur perform a mix of spanish influences with african rhythms producing what is known as 'son montuno' (buena vista style music).

Cuban Combination illustrate the creation of salsa in Puerto Rico and New York - mixing Cuban son rhythms and contemporary music.

'Cuban Combination' was formed when some of London's best Latin musicians got together and decided to launch a band combining some of the finest talent from the UK and Cuba.
