Arthur Lea's Bootleg Brass are a retro brand of rhythm n blues, Bootleg Brass is damn good news. Broken beats with honky tonk treats, brass swells from battered bells - it's New Orleans in tight jeans, singing southern soul on the London scene.
At Tongue Fu, the UK’s finest poets, storytellers and comedians perform with improvised soundtracks from the genre-hopping Tongue Fu Band (Nostalgia 77, Jamie Cullum). Created by poet and musician Chris Redmond (BBC Radio 4’s Pick Of The Week) who also hosts, Tongue Fu is about risk taking; coaxing performers, band and audience to leap before they look – its raw, un-rehearsed, spontaneous and frequently brilliant as a result.
Dizraeli is a Bristol-born rapper, poet and musician. Although rooted strongly in hip-hop traditions, his work draws inspiration from old folk music, recognising the common ground shared by songs of the people from any point in history.
