Royal Afternoon Tea

The Petersham Restaurant in Richmond, with its panoramic floor-to-ceiling views of the River Thames and surrounding meadows, is offering guests a regal experience with its Royal Afternoon Tea.

Available for a limited time only from Monday 22 May to Sunday 2 July, the specially-created afternoon tea is an experience fit for a queen, with a range of royally-themed sweet and savoury treats.

Alongside the quintessentially British cucumber sandwiches and freshly made scones with West Country clotted cream and strawberry preserves, there will be a selection of tempting cakes and pastries.

The sweet treats will include the French patisserie favourite chocolate and hazelnut opera cake, a slice of classic fruit cake, a taste of English summertime in a light and refreshing vanilla and orange panna cotta with rose lychee and raspberry jelly, and the crowning glory of any royal cake table: a Victoria sponge.

A choice of loose leaf teas are available with the Royal Afternoon Tea including Traditional English Breakfast, Sapphire Earl Grey, Dragonwell Green and Organic Jasmine. Because no royal occasion is complete without a touch of sparkle, a glass of Champagne can also be added – the Joseph Perrier Champagne on offer was supplied to the Royal Family throughout Queen Victoria’s reign, so it’s safe to say it has the royal seal of approval.

A glass of Joseph Perrier Champagne can be added for £12.50 per glass.
