After a rip-roaring debut in February, The Rob Castell Boogie Band is now a regular feature at Live at Zédel almost every other Friday night, performing a combo of classics, new grooves and musical theatre tunes, all with a sexy twist and a heavy dose of unpredictable charisma.

With a featured special guest at every show and the coolest live band on the circuit, it's the perfect way to end (or begin) your Friday night…you may even succumb to the irresistible pull to get up and dance.

Known most recently for rapping on youtube and being spectacularly wrong about both Brexit and the US Election, Rob Castell is an award-winning actor, songwriter and musical director. He co-founded, writes, performs and arranges for Barbershopera, an a cappella comedy quartet with three guys and a girl, which has been featured on BBC Radio 4, in London's West End and at the Edinburgh Festival.

He has worked as a composer and performer for the Nuffield Theatre, York Theatre Royal, CBBC and E4 amongst others and is quickly making a name for himself as the actor-muso with the most chest hair on the regional circuit.

Now complete with Boogie Band, Rob will be performing a combo of classics, new grooves and musical theatre tunes, all with a sexy twist and a heavy dose of unpredictable charisma. Think of it like a massive razzmatazz Vegas showband, only smaller and less expensive.

As for the band, Leon 'the incredible hunk' Scott plays the drums, Alice 'the groove' Offley brings the bass and Matt 'the jazz machine' Hodges plays piano. What a team.
