Uk’s First Shopping Centre Zip-line Arrives To Westfield London

Westfield announces the latest addition to its fantastical Future Forest installation created by Bompas & Parr, due to arrive at Westfield London on the 15th August. For adventurous adults and children Westfield introduces the UK’s first shopping centre zip-line: an exhilarating 40-metre descent from the top of a purpose-built treehouse.

From the 15th to 28th August, visitors to Future Forest will be able to experience a unique bird’s eye view of inside the shopping centre as they leap from a 5.3-metre tree house. As the only indoor zip-line in the UK, the free experience is the perfect way to keep the kids entertained over the summer holidays whatever the weather.

With fun activities aimed at all ages, the experience highlights the importance of the future of the forest and the role it will increasingly play in our lives. After visiting Future Forest, it’s hoped that city-dwellers will leave with a deeper understanding of the relevance of the natural world even amid the frenzy of the concrete jungle.

The Adventure Zip-Line is complemented by Bompas & Parr’s immersive Fruit Cloud – a walk-in breathable aromatic cloud with regularly changing flavours – as well as a mini exhibition showcasing plants that create electricity, the magic of spider silk, and a historic tree circus alongside artefacts, artworks and anecdotes about forests and nature. Everything is designed to inspired guests to consider the environment and the outdoors, as well as relaxation, health and wellbeing.
Londoners looking to escape the daily grind, gain mindfulness and get closer to nature are invited to visit the installation located within The Atrium at Westfield London between 15th August – 28th August.

To explore the Future Forest, sign up is not required, access will be on a first come, first served basis. The Adventure Zip-Line is suitable for those over 8 years old – full requirements below.

Zip-Line participation requirements:
1. be over 8 years old and a minimum of 120cm tall;
2. be a maximum of 100kg (15.5 stone) and a minimum of 15kg;
3. sign a participation form and if under 18 years old your parent or guardian must sign on your behalf;
4. attend a briefing by Vertex before the Activity;
5. be appropriately dressed. No dresses or skirts or flipflops or high-heeled shoes are permitted. You must cover up as much skin as possible to avoid the harness rubbing and footwear must be secure;
6. tie up long-hair, remove or cover all jewellery and piercings; and secure your glasses;
7. not be pregnant and/or aware of any medical condition which may have an adverse effect on your safety; and
8. ensure that all loose items are secured in the pouch provided.
