The culmination of cross-continental digging expeditions and rhythmic connections, from disco to jazz and beyond, Elevator Afro Club present the finest in international afro-inspired talent for London.

On August bank holiday Sunday we have a transatlantic afrobeat exchange between Newen Afrobeat (Chile) and London Afrobeat Collective (UK). After meeting in Lagos, we've worked to bring these two torchbearers of global afrobeat together for a night of heavy brass, hypnotic chant and infectious dance in Shoreditch.
Chilean afrobeat orchestra Newen Afrobeat have shared the stage with afrobeat royalty such as Tony Allen, Oghene Kologbo and Femi and Seun Kuti, and are today recognised globally as one of the most impressive and energetic projects in the genre. On August bank holiday they grace the club with their brass-heavy elevations straight from the founder.
For the discerning local party people, London Afrobeat Collective need no introduction. Their explosive brand of afrobeat has taken them from the capital to Glastonbury's West Holts stage and high-profile dates all over Europe. Weaving hypnotic grooves, pounding rhythms and soaring melodies, North London's politicised party machine are an incendiary live act who channel the spirit of the 1970s West African funk-jazz fusion for 2017.

AND if that's not enough rhythm ... Elevator Afro Club DJs will keep you moving with a handpicked selection of funk, jazz and disco from Africa and further afield.

The spirit of Fela is alive and well in London.
Don’t miss out on the underground afrobeat party of the year.
