Join Galapagos Conservation Trust (GCT) for this year’s Galapagos Day on Wednesday 25 October at the Royal Geographical Society, London. The event will be hosted by Liz Bonnin, presenter of the BBC’s ‘Galapagos’ series, who will be sharing her unique experience of the Islands and how she is working to engage the future generation of scientists.

Joining Liz will be a panel of leading scientists discussing the possibility of a plastic-free Galapagos Marine Reserve. Their fields of expertise range from oceanography and marine pollution, to the psychology of behavioural change and the study of contemporary archaeology. Such a diverse and multidisciplinary panel makes for a unique take on future solutions to the issue of plastic pollution and how we can inspire future generations to care more for our oceans.

In addition to this, we will be showcasing the best of our Galapagos photography competition 2017, as well as exhibiting Falmouth University’s photos from their expedition to Galapagos in 2016. Don’t miss out on what promises to be an inspiring and insightful evening!

This year’s event will be held in honour of Nigel Sitwell, one of our founding Trustees, who sadly passed away earlier this year. Nigel was a keen advocate of the power of education to further conservation and proceeds from ticket sales will help us to engage and inspire future conservationists.

Tickets are £30 and the event will start at 6pm. For more information, including how to book tickets, visit the Galapagos Day event page, or contact the Communications team by emailing [email protected] or give us a call on 020 7399 7440. Thank you for your support!
