What is the role of translation in international theatre?

From a foreign tongue to English; from the written word to the rich visual language of the stage: join Simon McBurney as he explores the role of translation and international literature in his work. In this special evening event following International Translation Day 2017, we will consider how different literary traditions make it onto the stage.

Simon is an actor, writer, director and co-founder of acclaimed theatre company Complicite. His most recent productions include Beware of Pity, a co-production with the Schaubühne Berlin, The Encounter and an adaptation of The Master and Margarita.
