Spend your Sunday afternoon with a glass of bubbly and the Jónsson-Kim duo as they present Schubert's Winterreise (Winter Journey) in the magical and intimate setting of the Shoreditch Treehouse, where you can enjoy classical music in a non-formal environment.

Winterreise - Winter Journey - was written a year before the end of Schubert’s short life. Based on poems by Wilhelm Müller, the piece is a cycle of 24 songs for voice and piano.

The wanderer's winter journey begins as he leaves the house of his beloved and travels through a winter landscape that leads him to question his identity, the conditions of his existence and the meaning of life. The second half is filled with hope and despair, ending with him sharing his misery with a beggar street musician - the hurdy gurdy man.
