The One Festival is back for its final year at The Space, 9 – 27 January 2018. Packed with unforgettable stories, bold new writing and world premieres, 19 brave performers take to the stage, one by one. Confessions, love… drunken fairy tales, this eclectic programme of work only has one thing in common – every piece is performed by a single actor.
Programme A- Celebrity, scandal and topiary collide in this evening of theatrical gems. Featuring a host of eclectic characters, all with unforgettable stories to tell.
Programme B- Confessions, fantasies and drunken fairytales. A darkly comic evening of solo performances all written and performed by women. Expect feats of endurance, inner most thoughts and moral depravity.
Programme C- Expect the unexpected. Inspiring true stories, real life encounters and stuffed animals. An eclectic evening of solo performances where dreams are made and nothing is quite as it seems.
Programme D- Looking for theatre that makes you laugh, cry and think, all in the same evening? We’ve got you covered. Witness life changing decisions, watch life pass you by and meet the boy who killed Christmas…
The Space prides itself on its dedication to diversity on stage. That’s why 68% of One Festival shows are written by women and 25% feature BAME artists. Attracting diverse audiences, engaging our local community & nurturing emerging artists lies at the heart of what we do and we are thrilled to present The One Festival as part of our season of work championing socially relevant, inventive, accessible theatre.
The final One Festival runs from 9th – 27th January 2018, with 4 rotating programmes of work on offer. Visit the What’s On section of our website for the full line up, dates and times and the News section for the lowdown on what to expect from each programme.
