About the event

A powerful new drama by Lucy Kaufman about the life and mysterious death of Karl Marx's youngest daughter, who lived at No 7 Jews Walk, Sydenham in the late 1890s. A translator, political activist, actor and early feminist, Eleanor was a woman much ahead of her time. Unfortunately her tempestuous relationship with common-law husband Edward Aveling ended in tragedy, when she took her own life in 1898 - or did she? Lucy Kaufman's play explores what really might have happened ...
