Written & performed by Alison Skilbeck and directed by Tim Hardy, this one-woman show sets out to disprove that “there are no good parts in Shakespeare for older women.” The Power Behind The Crone opened the 2016 RADA Festival, played the Bloomsbury Festival and Edinburgh Fringe Assembly Rooms 2017.
Alison Skilbeck plays Professor Artemis Turret, who is forced to reveal unexpected theatrical talents in seven wildly contrasting roles, as she takes up the characters of some remarkable – and often unsung – Shakespearean ladies.
“The Power Of The Crone is required viewing””
The Stage
‘Brilliantly observed, richly comic characters, all played to painful perfection.’”
