A season of film screenings and installations in iconic architectural landmarks, dedicated to exploring space, identity and domesticity, from a feminist perspective.

Thresholds is thrilled to announce its first event; a day of free screenings throughout Pullman Court on Sunday 23rd September, 10:00-17:00. As part of the Open House Weekend 2018, the modernist, Grade II* residential estate will host a compelling installation of innovative female filmmakers’ short films and moving image works.

The season aims to re-frame and foster an understanding of how architectural spaces develop, project and limit an individual’s potential and identity, by drawing attention to domestic concerns that are often overlooked or taken for granted.

Programme:

Semiotics of the Kitchen (Martha Rosler, 1975)
Clotheslines (Roberta Cantow, 1982)
The Limits of Vision - Part Two: Dirt and Science (Clio Barnard, 1988)
Pullman Court in 29 Parts (Lisa Castagner, 2014)
26 rue Saint Fargeau (Margaux Guillemard, 2017)
