Japan Matsuri Festival 2018

This September, Japan Centre is excited to once again take part in the vibrant Matsuri festival as it returns to Trafalgar Square. This annual festival takes place on 30th September to bring together the community of London to celebrate Japanese food, music, dance and culture with family and friends alike. Proceedings kick off at 10am and will continue on until 8pm with a whole host of exciting activities, performances and attractions taking place throughout the day for everyone to enjoy.

Established in 1976, Japan Centre is a well-loved London destination for authentic Japanese goods and is proud to have been involved in London’s Matsuri festival for the past few years.

There will be many opportunities to sample Japan Centre’s produce at this year’s festival, with a selection of different treats on offer for visitors to try. They will be contributing to the rich variety of Japanese gastronomy available at the festival, with stalls serving chicken katsu curry, karaage, takoyaki, pork buns and ice cream. This year, Shoryu Ramen will also have their own stall where you will find their freshly made ganso and piri piri ramen dishes.

Japan Matsuri is also set to deliver an exciting line-up of acts across their two stages, including live performances from J-pop artists, traditional dancers and taiko drummers. Families will enjoy arts and crafts, activities and games, including Japanese Calligraphy, Origami making Workshops and a Manga Art Wall.
