The Souls Awaken is a new translation by Richard Ramsbotham of Rudolf Steiner's 4th mystery drama. It takes place on several planes of existence. As well as the contemporary human beings at the centre of the drama, various spiritual beings appear, who are involved, whether for good or bad, in the inner trials of the characters. The characters face difficulties that are immediately recognisable - seemingly rigid management structures, the economic realities of running a business with spiritual aims and the challenge of technology.

A group of friends have agreed to work together but are they ready to take on responsibility? Or do they have personal, spiritual issues they must first resolve? How do the characters meet their own demons? Can they win through? The audience is invited to share in their inner journeys that take them into their pre-birth existence and even to a former life. The production has a cast of more than twenty people drawn from the local community in Stroud, Gloucestershire where the drama group is based. The play includes music, eurythmy, masks and puppets as well as drama. It is directed by Mike Chase.
