On one of the darkest days of the year, with the Winter Solstice fast approaching, Staples Solutions invites light-deprived workers to stop and bathe themselves in light at a specially designed SAD lighting installation, named ‘The Light Station’ in Southwark Bridge Tunnel, London.

Staples has introduced The Light Station pop-up to highlight the fact that office workers in the UK are getting virtually zero natural light this week. On the 18th December, sunrise is at 08:01 and sunset is 15:52. Londoners are commuting to and from their offices in the dark, and the light in UK offices leaves much to be desired. In fact, 80% of UK office workers (81% in London) have said lighting is important to them.

The Light Station will be complete with Staples desks and chairs, and office workers are welcomed to carry out their daily work whilst lit with giant SAD lamps, which are a form of light therapy for those affected by Seasonal Affective Disorder. Please find a digital mock-up of the installation and image of the location below.
