Ricardo Panela (baritone), accompanied by Natalie Burch on piano.

Few other composers have so perfectly explored the complexity of duty vs. personal relationships like Verdi. Focusing on some of his most well known compositions, this lecture will explore the ever evolving musical devices that Verdi used throughout his career to illustrate situations of political, social and emotional conflict in his operas.

Opera Prelude is a small charity supporting young professional opera singers who give lecture recitals in London. These friendly and inclusive events will introduce you to the international opera singers of tomorrow by way of recitals, concerts and masterclasses.
