Saturday 22nd June is a unique day in the calendar for both the Epsom Choral Society and Barnes Choir. These two great well-established choirs will be joining forces for the first time, under their joint musical director Julian Collings, to perform Elgar’s best loved choral work, the Dream of Gerontius, at the great Southwark Cathedral.
Gerontius is acknowledged to be one of the greatest choral works ever written. It is a deeply moving work, a heartfelt expression of loss and hope in the face of death.
