VIA Arts Prize finalists Carlos Cortes and Luciana Bohm will be on site to give a walk-through of the exhibition and discuss how Latin American and Iberian art and culture influenced their work.

The VIA Arts Prize has announced its 2019 public programme that includes a number of curated cultural events as part of the fifth edition of the prestigious prize.

The VIA Arts Prize presents its 2019 exhibition, an eclectic group show showcasing the top thirty original works by thirty UK-based artists specifically inspired by Latin America and the Iberian Peninsula. Chosen from around 400 applications, this year’s 30 shortlisted works will be on display in London at the Embassy of Brazil’s remarkable Sala Brasil until Wednesday 11 December 2019. Visitors can vote for their favourite artwork in situ during the exhibition and the People's Choice Award will be awarded to the public’s chosen artwork on Tuesday 10 December.

The free events in the public programme include a panel discussion hosted by the Embassy of El Salvador about the challenges of modern photography and artist and curator led tours of the exhibition.

The VIA Art’s Prize’s mission is to deepen cultural awareness of Ibero-American arts and cultures and encourage intercultural exchange. It is organised by ACALASP, the Association of Cultural Attachés of Latin America, Spain and Portugal, supported by People’s Palace Projects and Instituto Cervantes, and sponsored by Itaú.
