About the event
The world’s first MoBA (Museum of Boiler Arts) by E.ON open to visit in London
• E.ON’s MoBA exhibits stunning, unique artworks with a sustainable edge at Spitalfields City Farm
• MoBA aims to highlight problems surrounding inefficient heating, using waste from old boilers
• Bird boxes and bug hotels amongst the creations as E.ON shows how upgrading your boiler could positively impact the environment
• Customers could also save up to £205 every year by switching to a more energy efficient boiler*
To highlight how upgrading your boiler can positively impact the environment, energy supplier E.ON has unveiled a new exhibition, MoBA (Museum of Boiler Arts) which is made up of stunning sculptures made entirely from old boilers. E.ON partnered with the London Sculpture Workshop to create the original pieces, each of which have been designed with the environment in mind, with bug hotels, bird baths and animal shelters included among the handmade artworks.
Created using intricate combinations of old copper cylinder and combi boilers, each sculpture has been crafted by artists who have all added their unique flair to the final pieces. With the environment and natural world at the heart of the designs, the full collection that makes up E.ON’s MoBA is visually impressive and unexpectedly elegant.
The original pieces were created for E.ON in partnership with the team at community-based studio, London Sculpture Workshop, using a mixture of combi and copper cylinder boilers. The artworks will be on display until the end of January at the Spitalfields City Farm in East London.
Upgrading to more efficient boilers can have a positive impact on the environment by reducing heating waste, and E.ON offers boilers that are 94% efficient as standard and people could save £205 a year by switching to a more efficient gas boiler, and in turn reduce their carbon footprint.
*The estimated figures are based on installing a new A-rated condensing boiler with a programmer, room thermostat and thermostatic radiator controls (TRVs) in a gas heated semi-detached house from an older boiler with a programmer and room thermostat. Savings will vary depending on the size and thermal performance of your home and figures are based on fuel prices as of March 2019.
